I put Dr. Brunner in touch with Dr. Hammond this morning and the great medical minds together decided that (1) Clay is alive by the grace of God, medical intervention, and because he has a pushy wife and (2) he needs to stay inpatient overnight again tonight to get more IV antibiotics and platelets.  (I may be paraphrasing the outcome of the call but hey- it\u2019s my post). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plus \u201cJoyce\u201d showed up to visit him this morning &#8211; so he\u2019s obviously feeling much better!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/joyandclay.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/02\/img_8755.jpg?w=768\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-187\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/joyandclay.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/02\/img_8756.jpg?w=768\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-188\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clay is eating delicious snacks that some friends surprised him with, while laying under the prayer blanket sweet Gwen made for him &#8211; so life is good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/joyandclay.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/02\/img_8761.jpg\" data-id=\"190\" class=\"wp-image-190\" \/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/joyandclay.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/02\/img_8759.jpg\" data-id=\"191\" class=\"wp-image-191\" \/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/joyandclay.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/02\/img_8760.jpg\" data-id=\"192\" class=\"wp-image-192\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-caption\">Getting his strength back up by sitting under the prayer blanket and <br>eating Cheddar Straws \ud83d\ude1c<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also loves the food at the Marianna Hospital &#8211; he asked for extra tea and got two huge cups of delicious sweet tea (sweet like my Grandma Marler and Aunt Marie made in South Carolina).  Let\u2019s just say the little canned \u201cteas\u201d they give him at Baptist Hospital don\u2019t hold a candle to the homemade sweet tea in Marianna.  But it\u2019s also a good thing they don\u2019t need to check his blood sugar anymore \ud83d\ude2c <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/joyandclay.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/02\/img_8758.jpg?w=768\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-189\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Drs say he gets to come home in the morning if he is still fever free and his numbers go up (platelets &amp; WBC).
