Day 1 of chemo went really well!!! We got a call from the hospital around 7:30 that they had a room they were getting ready and to come in anytime. So we headed back to Weaver 7.

This week is called R-IVAC M. He got Rituximab on Day 0, then days 1-5 he gets Etoposide, Ifosfamide, Mesna, and Cytarabine (which I know does not match up to the letters in R-IVAC, but I’ll have to ask the Dr tomorrow what’s up with their abbreviation 🧐. With an intrathecal Methotrexate thrown in on Day 4.
So far, his only side effect has been hot flashes and cold flashes. Which is funny because one of the more common side effects listed for one of the meds is “early onset of menopause”. So I told him maybe he is just having “manopause” and getting a taste of what I’ll go through later in life. 😜.

Thank you to everyone for all the prayers, food, support, gift cards, etc, etc. We are so very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives.
