Chemo Cycle 2, Day 2

Today was thankfully a pretty uneventful chemo day. The only difference from yesterday is that they added in the intrathecal methotrexate. But Clay just pretty much breezed through and slept a lot of the day.

Back to Weaver 7

If you hear him say I was not a good nurse today, he might be right. I was on several super long conference calls and did not realize that I had commandeered the only available table in the room…and he could not move for 2 hours after the intrathecal injection – had to lay flat on his back. So when I stopped work for a minute to refresh my water, he looks over at me with these sweet little puppy dog eyes and said “do you think I could have a drink of water too? And maybe my lunch?” 🙄. I just thought he was peacefully resting!!!

Chemo reaction of the day.

Then I got to take a short nap with him and I got matching slipper socks – so I think that’s a winner of a day!

Matching Slipper Socks!!!

The coolest thing we saw today (of course during one of my work calls) was the helicopter practicing landing on the emergency pad.

His WBC count is down today to 9 (from being higher than normal levels on Monday at 30) but that is all normal and means the chemo is doing what it is supposed to do.

Clay also thinks he looks like Uncle Fester – but you can be the judge and vote on that. We might need to get him some fake tan or something (he said a lightbulb to put in his mouth 😜).

Prayers that tomorrow goes as well as today and that he keeps trucking along with nominal side effects. And that he continues to keep that awesome sense of humor. I like to tell him I married him because I love to hear him laugh (and he had a picture of himself and the lead singer of Yellowcard on his MySpace, so obviously he was cool). He is the most positive, optimistic, genuinely happy person I know – and it’s infectious.

You two inspire me and make me smile! I’m so glad chemo is going so well this time, minus the crappy nurse! Love ya both!

I wasn’t really that crappy. It really did not hurt him to eat his chicken salad sandwich on a plate in his lap for one time LOL

She’s a great nurse! I just have to tease her some to keep her on her toes. She was working hard all day. I was just laying flat after getting chemo injected into my spine.
I don’t know how she got matching socks, or when she took pics of me sleeping, but that’s pretty typical of the creepy kind of love I married, that helps me to laugh through the daily struggles.

I fell in love with both of you for all those the same reasons 🙂 I love your matching socks and I love that you got to take a nap with him :-). You got to remember to take care of yourself also 🙂 hugs all around!!
